Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American stage and screen actress who is best recognized for her roles in films for the movie Ray Undercover Brother and on the television show The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue is an actress for theater and film who is a producer. Her career began in theater and later appeared on a variety of TV series as well as mainstream and independent films. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes for which she won high praise but also many nods and awards. One of them was the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Film. Her professional acting d but was as Ariel as Ariel in The Tempest. She has performed on Broadway in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. When it comes to film, she is known best for her roles in films like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help.
